Jack Wheatley
PR and Security
Bio
Jack joined the lettings office in 2016 and has proved to be a hit with everyone. Jack is a Welsh Spring Spaniel and is the constant companion to Jamie, going everywhere together.
After arriving at the office every day he sets about saying hello to all the staff and demanding his 2nd breakfast. The rest of the day is spent on viewings, keeping look out of the office window and greeting his many visitors. It’s not unusual for him to have more visitors in a day than the rest of the team. The office find him to be a calming influence who always brings a smile on even the most stressful of days.
Jamie Wheatley MARLA
Partner
Bio
Jamie trained as a surveyor in the late 1980's before moving into the family trade of estate agency. In the early 90's he focused on lettings and property management and has been at the cutting edge of the market ever since. During his professional career he has seen remarkable changes in the market from property crashes, the rise of the Buy To Let boom, Housing Act reforms and the growth of our governing body ARLA. Having dealt with Student lets, large scale block management and long term corporate tenancies there is little that Jamie hasn't advised on in the market place.
Jamie lives in South London, coming from a family in the property business where his wife, father and brother are all involved in estate agency.
In his spare time between family life and letting properties Jamie is happiest tinkering with and driving classic cars and loves nothing more than spending an afternoon amongst the old racers at Brooklands!
Lauren Howe
Lettings Consultant
Bio
Continuing our theme of only employing highly experienced staff, Lauren is no exception. Having had 17 years in the industry locally and the last 7 years at branch manager level of a leading estate agent, we were delighted to welcome Lauren on board to expand our business and help with all aspects of compliance and the day-to-day smooth running of the business. Lauren knows the Cobham market particularly well and her knowledge base is hard to beat. Her approach is that of good old fashioned customer service, pro-active thinking and a pride in doing the job right…a winning formula.
Lauren has a very full family life with husband, 2 young children, Wilf the Dachshund and Aslan the cat (notice we remember the pets names!). How do you keep that lot in occupied; lots of outdoor adventures, exploring, dog walks and plenty of laughter. Lauren is a truly positive spirit in our office and a real team player.
Lisa Braun
Property Manager
Bio
Lisa is the newest member of the team but like the rest of us, she has many, many years’ experience in property. Coming from a local, respected competitor Lisa brings a pragmatic, practical approach to the job backed up by her industry knowledge. Of course, no one gets to work at Martin & Wheatley if they’re not a dog lover and Lisa more than qualifies. In her spare time she looks after 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a Jack Russell who occasionally come to the office along with the rest of our doggy team. Channelling her Scandi roots and green credentials Lisa cycles to work every day from where she lives locally in Weybridge and to any appointments in the week. A company bike may need to go on our shopping list! We’re a tight team at M&W but Lisa has fitted straight in from day 1 and we are absolutely delighted to have her on board.
Penny Morton-Hunte
Negotiator
Bio
With an absolute wealth of industry and local area knowledge Penny is exactly what our business is all about. Having worked the local property market for many years for a leading large estate agency Penny is a well-known professional in the area. People often assume showing houses and putting together deals is easy but it’s far from it. The job can be incredibly stressful, with many moving parts and this is where Penny shines. When the heat is on Penny is unflappable. Industry experience runs throughout our staff and it’s good to know that whoever you’re dealing with has the expertise and correct approach to handle all situations. Penny lives locally in Weybridge and when not in the office, Penny will be looking after her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Penny is also a highly skilled ‘Drapiere’ and her beautifully hand-made curtains grace the rooms of many Weybridge houses. Penny also makes hand-made Cashmere mittens and loves all forms of needlework.
Sara Thomson
Property Manager
Bio
If Property Management was a game of football then Sara would be Ronaldo and as a landlord you’ll always want her on your squad.
As with all our staff, Sara has many years’ experience in the industry but beyond that she has a level of confidence in her job and a focus to get things done right that we all admire. Her knowledge of boiler repairs and plumbing would shame many contractors.
After learning the lettings business at a leading large Surrey estate agency the desire to work for a more customer/client focused firm offering a bespoke personal service lead her to Martin & Wheatley. Living in Walton and Weybridge for many years Sara has just the kind of local knowledge that we as a team and company value. When she isn’t skiing, walking her Cockapoo Becky or gardening, Sara is bringing a sense of order to the office with her seemingly unflappable nature.
